From my sis
I might have mentioned previously that my younger sister loves cross-stitch and that's she much more proficient in it than me. Here's what she gifted me:
My younger sister who is in the last week of her pregnancy, took time to stitch this for us. Lovely, isn't it? Now, I'll need to go think of a matching frame.
Don't you just love it when other members in the family enjoy crafting too?
Getting laced
Thanks for the compliments on Ms Leafy Cami. The cami can be found in VK Spring/Summer 03. It's pattern #3 called "Shaped Camisole" (not too exciting a name, is it?)Anyway, I just wanted to set the record straight that although this pattern has a full page chart, the back piece instructions is the killer as it's too brief. Well, so brief that it took a lot of flipping back and forth; looking at the model photo and killing a few more brain cells than I usually would. And I also did my own modifications to the front as my shoulders are obviously a tad too broad and I'm using cotton. But other than that, more lace in the works...
This time, it's crochet using size 10 cotton.
There's 2 projects in the photo using the same thread in case you are wondering.

Baby KAL update (long awaited)
Now that the internet connection is up...baby KAL updates will resume.Would I dare say that everyone's preparing knits for the holidays? As usual, Christina is creating beautiful work and I can see her plans for some Xmas knitting for the kids. Lynnette has created some cute baby slip-ons and it seems a baby blanket is also in the works. Go look at Kristyn's work! Incredible!Penny has got to be the sweetest grandma -- look at the sweaters she is making! And Jenn has completed a baby blanket (see Nov 12 entry); thanks for your e-card too! Lisa has knitted a baby sweater with a cute hat to go along with it. So cool!Back to regularly scheduled knitting or crochet....

Connected
Yup, finally the ISP guy arrived today and I am *finally* connected at my apartment.
Today has been a busy day as 2 gals dropped in for their knitting sessions -- Wendy's all done with her boyfriend sweater! (If you are interested, you can read about it here.) It's weirdly gratifying to see my students complete their projects even though I am not the recipient. Perhaps it's the process that you go through with them?

3 am
This is a new project I am working on.

At 3am in the morning, I was armed with paper, calculator and pen. To work out the charting as the cami neck shaping does not flatter me.
Here's a front view.

And the back.

I am not sure how far you get to see the FO modelled since this cami has a low back. [grin]
A three day record effort since I haven't been knitting lace for quite a while. I have to say though the reworked piece is more flattering on the shoulders.

Clapotis - finally!
Or should I say: Camera, finally? [LOL]Ms Clappy bundles up in excitement.
Since I've been toting it around for a long time, I've decided to send it for a long-awaited bath. Then Ms Clappy decides to do some tanning.
See the amount of sun coming through? I think that's gonna be my favorite spot for blocking my future projects. (grin)By nightime, she's all ready.
Can't tell you how pleased I am with this shawl... Ms Clappy took about 7 balls as I wanted her to be long enough to wrap me like my pashmina does and she does take a lot of my knitting time.
Maybe it's the endless home stretch?!

Booboo
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. :)Hubby still can't believe the *number* of knitty friends I have online who'll bother to send greetings and well wishes my way or never fail to prod me on or cheer me up. More so since I've been intermittent with my blogging lately...he's like, "you mean they still come back and check your blog regularly?" I don't know what to make of that statement but I'll take it that he's *positively* jealous. (hehe)I wished I have asked for better memory though. In a bid to shuttle to my mom's house earlier on, I have conveniently forgot all about the USB cable for the camera connection. Right, got camera, no connection [sigh].Again, I shall ask for your forgiveness as this post will still be photoless -- I'll put a memo in my Palm with an alarm to remind myself to stick a Post-It note on my bag to pack that cable along with my camera. Now, if I will just also write and pin on the board next to the door that I'm to remember to bring along the bag which these items are in. Grrr....To think that I was happily snapping photos for the past few days!

Another belated
This time, my own birthday.
I had the opportunity to take a break last Friday to celebrate my birthday at a tasty Peranakan restaurant called Chilli Padi. Had a walnut cheesecake as the birthday cake -- YUM!No photos as my camera isn't an outdoorsy animal -- it needs to remain *wired* (i.e. plugged to the wall) most of the time or it'll just wilt. The good thing though:I've good a new camera! Remember the Canon A95 (ok, not so new...it's a soon-to-be phased out model) but I've got a great bargain buy.So the next few posts should be photo rich soon!
